Sarah Newbery

I work to provide compassionate, comprehensive and high quality medical care to the my patients at Marathon Family Health Team and through Wilson Memorial General Hospital site of North of Superior Health Care Group. I am grateful for the opportunities to provide leadership in the areas in which I can make a meaningful contribution at both the local and provincial health care community levels, and I feel a deep commitment to the social accountability that physicians have to the communities we serve.

I am excited about the potential for NOSM to be part of the solution to the challenges faced by Northern and rural communities in Ontario and have worked in various committee capacities at the School, most particularly at the undergraduate level in the Northern and Rural Health curriculum context.

As I become a more "seasoned" physician I am increasingly interested in the systems issues that need to be addressed to help to ensure a sustainable, high quality, high functioning health care system at both the local level as well as the provincial and national level.
