Biography

Dr Lockwood worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar and Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University, before joining the Centre of Development Studies in 2021. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Institute for Democracy, Citizenship and Public Policy in Africa at the University of Cape Town, where she co-founded the Political Parties in Africa project. In addition to her academic work, she is a Senior Consultant for Menas Associates, where she provides strategic, political and integrity risk analysis for Southern Africa. She is a Fellow of Clare College.
