My doctoral research project aims to understand Corporate Social Responsibility by the mobile telecommunications industry in Afghanistan in order to explain the social role of MNCs in areas of limited statehood with least-developed and post-war characteristics. This particular and extreme case study enables me to critical contextualize and discuss the assumptions and claims about CSR, business strategy and social role of business in developing countries.
