Biography

Dr. Sadia Nadeem is a Professor (Management Sciences) at FAST School of Management and Director Management Advancement Research Centre (MARC) at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan. She joined FAST as an Associate Professor in 2007. She began her professional career as an electronic engineer in Pakistan and then moved to London where she studied and worked for 13 years. She holds an MBA and a PhD in Management from Cass Business School, City University, London, UK. Dr. Nadeem has carried out research and consultancy work in large private and public sector organisations. In the UK, her primary areas of research were work-life balance, change management and discrimination and disadvantage in the labour market. However, her move to Pakistan shifted her interests towards high-performance work systems, cross-cultural HRM, expatriate adjustment, trust and leadership. She is currently working on several national and international projects which cover areas of global leadership competencies, trust across cultures, performance management, and expatriate adjustment. She uses both qualitative and quantitative techniques for her projects, but particularly enjoys working on large datasets. She has over 19 years of experience in the field of HR with over 20 journal articles and 30+ conference papers presented at peer-reviewed national and international conferences. Dr. Nadeem has also presented a good portion of her work at the most prestigious Academy of Management and the British Academy of Management Conferences. Dr. Nadeem is a Chartered MCIPD (UK) and a member of the Academy of Management (US), the Society of Human Resource Management (US), and the HR Forum Islamabad (Pakistan). Dr. Nadeem also serves as a reviewer for multiple international journals in her field and is currently a council member of the National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) Pakistan. She has over 45 invited talks and trainings to her credit in the last 4 years of her career alone.
