Biography

Roger Mesznik has more than twenty five year experience lecturing, teaching, and consulting on Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and Instruments, Financial Strategy and Planning, International Business, Managerial Accounting, and in training senior executives and MBA students.

Mr. Mesznik has taught at the Graduate Business School of Columbia University since 1982. Mr. Mesznik has taught or is teaching at the Stern School of Business at New York University; at INSEAD in France (Fontainebleau); at Baruch College (The Zicklin School) of CUNY; at L'Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec, (taught intermittently in French), at Kuwait University in Kuwait; at the Catholic University in Lisbon, and at the Donau-Universität in Austria (taught intermittently in German). Mr. Mesznik has also lectured in Hong Kong, in China, in Taiwan, and at the Technische Universität in Vienna.

Mr. Mesznik has taught frequently in degree-granting executive programs -- mostly executive MBA. Mr. Mesznik teaches assorted courses in financial management, capital markets, financial instruments and securities -- including financial derivatives, economics of the firm, corporate restructuring, corporate finance, and managerial accounting. Some courses were rather theoretical, some case-based, and some required extensive supervised research by the students. Mr. Mesznik received numerous awards and distinctions for excellence in teaching.
Mr. Mesznik is a frequent lecturer and consultant to corporations and multi-national and international institutions on finance, financial management, and economic analyses. His clients have included PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC), UBS, Bankers Trust, The U.S.-U.S.S.R. Trade and Economic Council, IBM, American Express, Die Bank der Österreichischen Postsparkasse, and the World Bank.

Mr. Mesznik has held full-time positions in the electronics industry and the pharmaceutical industry in the US and overseas. Mr. Mesznik's area of expertise was corporate planning, long-range strategy, financial analysis, investment valuations and inventory management, and cost-benefit assessments of new products, ventures, and entries into new markets.

Mr. Mesznik has presented research papers at meetings of the European Finance Association and the Financial Management Association and has published in The American Economist, the Journal of Finance, and the Journal of Maritime Law and Commerce. Mr. Mesznik has also conducted research on issues relating to renewable resources, the wealth of the oceans, and the Law of the Sea.

Mr. Mesznik has a Ph.D. and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, New York City. He also undertook graduate and undergraduate studies in industrial engineering.
