Biography

Robins School of Business

Robert “Bob” Piazza joined the University of Richmond in 2011 as an Adjunct Instructor of Management in the MBA program, where he has taught Organizational Behavior, Strategic Talent Management, and Business Communications. He also served as the university’s business school Executive-in-Residence, and as Director of Executive Education.

Before joining the University of Richmond, Bob worked in Human Resources in various manufacturing sector companies for more than 30 years. From 2005 to 2007, he was Vice President of Talent Management at Danaher Corporation. In 2007, he was appointed Vice President of Human Resources at Danaher Tool Group. In 2010, Danaher and Cooper Industries created a joint venture called Apex Tool Group, LLC, which combined the tools businesses of both companies, and Bob was appointed Vice President of Human Resources of ATG, which had sales of $1.3 billion, and employed 8,000 people in 16 countries. He retired in 2011.

Bob is adept at discovering performance and behavior strengths and opportunities in people and organizations, creating robust plans for talent acquisition, talent development, and leading change, all of which demand broad and deep communications skills.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications and Literature from Pace University, and his Masters in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
