Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management

Robert Peirce is Chairman of the Board of Euroclear Bank. He had previously a cereer in audit, as senior audit partner at PwC and an accredited Belgian financial services auditor for more than 25 years. As such, he has been serving many domestic and multinational quoted corporations reporting under European, International or US accounting and financial standards. He built his international experience through secondments in the UK and in the US and through regular assignments in South America, Eastern Europe and India. Admitted to partnership in 1987, he has, amongst others, led the Belgian audit firm, managed its financial services practice, launched its forensic practice and thereafter chaired the firm’s governance board for eight years. Besides his professional career path, Robert lectured auditing at Louvain School of Management and financial instruments’ accounting and control at St Louis University Faculties in Brussels. Prior to that, he taught financial and managerial accounting at Boston University-Brussels. Since he retired from his professional service firm in June 2012, Robert has been providing expert knowledge to audit committees and executive boards. As honorary Chairman of the Registered Auditors accredited for Financial Institutions and fellow of the European Corporate Reporting Policy Group, he is also regularly consulted on corporate, governance and regulatory matters. He is moreover holding a seat at the disciplinary board and at the admission committee of the Belgian Institute of Registered Auditors.
