International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans

Robert Klausner is the principal in the law firm of Klausner & Kaufman, P.A. After two years in local government service, he has been engaged in the private practice of law, specializing in the representation of public employee pension funds since 1979. He serves as a consultant on retirement issues to numerous state and local government entities. Mr. Klausner has appeared as an expert witness before congressional and state legislative committees on a variety of issues facing public employee retirement systems. Since 1987, he has been an adjunct professor of labor and industrial relations at Nova University Center for the Study of Law. Mr. Klausner has spent considerable time as a lobbyist in various state capitals on pension bills and assisted in the authorship of many of the current statutory provisions governing public employee retirement systems in the State of Florida. Mr. Klausner is a frequent speaker on pension education programs and has also published numerous articles on fiduciary obligations of public employee pension trustees. Mr. Klausner is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi and Florida Blue Key, and is listed in the current edition of The Best Lawyers in America. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and holds the degree of juris doctor from the University of Florida College of Law.
