As an adjunct professor of cyber risk management at Loyola Law School, Professor Robert Kang played a leading role in creating Loyola Law School’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity law program, the first such program in Southern California.

Professor Kang is also in-house counsel at a major US corporation, and holds the distinction of being one of the first in house attorneys in Southern California to create a cyber legal practice. He also practices in the field of national security. Professor Kang is on the Board of Directors for the Southern California chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.

As a law professor, and in house attorney, Professor Kang innovates legal and policy solutions to some of the nation’s most important and cutting-edge issues on legal, regulatory and legislative policy fronts. He writes and lectures regularly on managing cyber and technology risks.

Prior to becoming a law professor, Professor Kang worked as an entertainment and IP litigator at Jones Day, where he helped orchestrate the Korean entertainment industry’s first major legal victory in the United States involving Korean pop culture (MBC v. Solafide Inc.) Professor Kang matriculated number 10 from the UCLA School of Law and previously clerked for the Honorable Johnnie B. Rawlinson, Circuit Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
