Dr. Connor has a BA with honors from Princeton University, an MHA from Duke University, and a Ph.D. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the faculty at St. Catherine University, Dr. Connor has been the co-founder of a community health center, an associate director of a teaching hospital, a tenured professor at the University of Minnesota, and the founder and CEO of medical device and wearable technology companies. Dr. Connor has published in Academic Medicine, Health Affairs, Health Care Management Review, Hospital & Health Services Administration, Inquiry, International Journal of the Economics of Business, Journal of Health Economics, Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management, Managed Care, Medical Care Review, Topics in Health Care Financing, and even Cosmo Magazine. According to a study of top journals in healthcare management, Dr. Connor has published in 6 of the top 11 journals. Dr. Connor was honored as inventor of the year by the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association and noted as one of Minnesota's top inventors in Twin Cities Business Magazine. Dr. Connor has been the primary investigator on federal grants and served for several years on a grant review panel for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Connor has taught courses on financial management, health economics, healthcare financial management, healthcare innovation and quality improvement, healthcare policy, internet search, management of non-profit organizations, the medical device industry, new product development, and the pharmaceutical industry.
