Biography

Darla Moore School of Business

Robert “Bob” Szymanski is a lecturer in the School of Accounting and serves as the faculty coordinator for the SAP Academic Alliances program. Szymanski also works directly with the Department of Executive Education to help develop corporate outreach at the Darla Moore School of Business. He owns and operates a private consulting firm which specializes in SAP consulting and education. His consulting work has included many Fortune 500 companies as well as SAP America. Szymanski also holds three professional certification in SAP. He is a certified solutions architect for SAP ERP and a certified associate consultant in SAP ERP Procurement. As well as holding these professional certifications, he serves as a leading SAP TERP10 certification instructor in the Americas. Szymanski is also a member of a team at Baton Simulations, a leading ERP Simulation Software company based in Montreal, Quebec.

Szymanski acquired his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Boston College. He earned his MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College in 1998. His primary area of interest include information systems and accounting information systems. Shortly after receiving his MBA, he started up his consulting firm based out of Altamonte Springs, Florida. Soon thereafter, he became an instructor at the University of Central Florida, where he worked until 2010. During his time at the University of Central Florida, he was instrumental in implementing and building the largest SAP University Alliance program in North America.

In 2010, Szymanski joined the Department of Information Systems at Georgia Southern University where he helped further the SAP academic program. He served as a lecturer at Georgia Southern University through December 2014, when he left to join the Moore School at the University of South Carolina. He currently serves as the university's faculty coordinator for the SAP University Alliance as well as being the university champion for the American SAP User's Group.
