Richard Sawhill

Mr. Sawhill has been the executive vice president of the Airconditioning, Refrigeration and Mechanical Contractors Association of Southern California (ARCA/MCA) since 2000. Previously, he was the director of human resources and labor relations for Hussmann Corporation. Before that, Mr. Sawhill was the director of labor relations for Alpha Beta Company. His labor relations career dates back to 1974. Mr. Sawhill served on the Construction Industry FASB Coalition, which worked with the Financial Accounting Standards Board to simplify the new disclosure standard for companies participating in multiemployer plans. He has served on numerous industry committees, including the MCAA Government Affairs Committee and the International Foundation Trustees Committee. Mr. Sawhill is a graduate of the International Foundation Trustees Masters Program. He is a management trustee on the Airconditioning and Refrigeration Industry Joint Trust Funds, the Southern California Pipe Trades Trust Funds, the Inland Refrigeration Industry Trust Funds, the Landscape Irrigation and Sprinkler Benefit Trust Funds, the Southern California Joint Journeyman and Apprenticeship Training Fund, and the Southern California Apprentice and Journeyman Training Program. Mr. Sawhill serves as a professional trustee on the San Francisco Culinary, Bartenders and Service Employees Benefit Trust Funds and the Michigan Iron Workers Local 25 Benefit Trust Funds. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of La Verne with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and with department honors from the University of La Verne School of Business and Economics. Mr. Sawhill received his master’s degree in business administration from La Verne with a concentration in executive management.
