Biography

Kenan-Flagler Business School

Richard Blackburn teaches management and organizational behavior, and is associate dean of the Undergraduate Business Program at UNC Kenan-Flagler.

An award-winning teacher, his research interests include organizational and individual creativity and innovation and managing teams in the virtual environment.

He served as associate dean of the Undergraduate Business Program and chair of organizational behavior.

He is co-author of the textbook Managing Organizational Behavior.

Dr. Blackburn has worked with a variety of business and non-profit organizations, including Eli Lilly and Company, Caterpillar Tractor Company, CooperTools, Sonoco Products Company, UNC Hospitals, Johnson & Johnson, Grubb Management Company, SunHealth, Inc., Merrill Lynch and the U.S. Postal Service.

He received his PhD and MBA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a BA from Carleton College.
