Ricardo Oliveira

Ricardo Vinicius Bof de Oliveira is a material scientist who have been working in the field of polymeric materials, nanomaterials, and the applications of those for the last few decades. He graduated in 1999 from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Brazil), where he also received his master’s degree (1999-2000). His PhD work in materials chemistry was done at the same university (2000-2004) in collaboration with the physical-chemistry department of Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz (Germany). After that, Dr. Oliveira was an assistant and associate professor at some universities in Brazil and abroad. At the Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), he developed a unique graphene production technology which resulted in 2015 in a spinoff company, the 2D Materials Pte Ltd (2DM). Currently Dr. Oliveira leads 2DM company as its CTO, aiming to expand the frontier of materials applications through the use of high-performance graphene for a more efficient, greener and more sustainable world.
