Bio

Rex Thompson has had the pleasure of serving as department chair of finance and as associate dean for academic affairs along with serving on the research faculty at Carnegie-Mellon University, the University of Washington, the University of British Columbia, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Research

Thompson''s most recent research concerns the impact of information dissemination on security return dynamics along with his continued interest in how accounting information influences security prices and how mergers benefit targets and bidders.  Published research includes subjects relating to corporate acquisitions, risk estimation, dividend policy, investment trading strategies, and security pricing.  His work can be found in various academic journals:
