Rebecca Adlington made her Olympic debut in Beijing and went on to win 400m and 800m freestyle events. It saw her become the first woman to take swimming gold for Great Britain in over forty years and the first in a century to secure two wins at a single Games. Rebecca joined TeamGB aged 19 and after winning double gold in China in 2008, she went on to take Commonwealth and World Aquatics gold shortly afterwards. At the London 2012 Games, she added two bronze medals to her collection. After retiring from competition, Rebecca began to work with charities and schemes to promote sports. She started Swim Stars programme for children and Becky Adlington Training for swimming teachers. She is a BBC commentator and pundit covering various sports events. She has also appeared on several TV shows, such as I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here and MasterChef. .
