Biography
I'm a licensed therapist in NY who focuses on supporting Black women and people of color through life and career transitions.
I provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed therapy that centers on the experiences of Black women and people of color. I help clients navigate their career and life transitions, gain control over their thoughts and emotions and build confidence in themselves. My goal is to normalize mental health treatment. It is possible to break the cycle of mental and emotional overwhelm and get the proper support to help you build your self-care routine and reach your goals.
My experience includes working in community mental health, residential treatment, and medical and educational settings. I have training in trauma-informed cognitive-behavioral therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and the treatment of anxiety and OCD through exposure and response prevention. In addition, I am a certified Executive Leadership Coach and provide leadership coaching and private practice consulting services. I focus on providing clients with a safe, holistic, individualized space to learn and grow.
I believe strongly in the value and dignity of all people. I appreciate clients who choose to work with me and always encourage them to inform me of what they need and how to best support them. I don’t believe that our challenges define us; they can be opportunities to develop skills, make connections and even find ways to help others. I want to normalize mental health and also make it accessible. To achieve this mission, I frequently talk about the value of therapy in a non-stigmatizing way; I also provide virtual services and accept some insurance plans.
