Wagner Graduate School of Public Service

Rajeev Dehejia is Professor of Economics and Public Policy and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University, and Professor Economics, by courtesy, in the Department of Economics, New York University.

He completed his undergraduate training from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, graduating with BA Highest Honours in Economics and the Governor-General's Academic Medal as the top undergraduate of the university. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1997.

Rajeev’s was an Assistant (and later Associate) Professor in the Department of Economics and School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and then a tenured Associate Professor of Economics at Tufts University, before joining New York University, where he is now Professor of Economics and Public Policy. He has held visiting positions at Harvard, Princeton, and the London School of Economics.

His research interests include: applied microeconomics and econometrics (external validity in experimental and quasi-experimental methods, propensity score and matching methods, and Bayesian econometrics), development economics (child labor, microcredit, and financial development and growth), labor economics (labor supply, financial incentives and fertility decisions, labor standards), and public economics (religion and consumption insurance).

Rajeev has served as the Joint Editor of the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, a coeditor of Journal of Human Resources, and an Associate Editor at the Journal of the American Statistical Association.

He is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, Research Network Fellow at CESifo, and Research Fellow at IZA, Bonn.
