Rachel Cpsychol

Senior Lecturer at Arden University

Biography

-

I am currently Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Arden University, UK, where I teach postgraduate psychology and neuroscience.

I was previously a lecturer in the School of Medicine, University of Birmingham (UK). I taught topics in psychology, neuroscience, statistics/research methods, and psychological medicine to MBChB and intercalating medical students, having module and programme lead roles. Before this I had teaching assistant and teaching fellow roles in the School of Psychology at Birmingham, teaching topics across the psychology curriculum to UG students.

I recently completed my PhD at Birmingham University. My doctoral research explored the neurocognitive correlates of hallucinations and other anomalous experiences resulting from aberrant processing, in psychologically normal populations. I am particularly interested in the contribution of cortical hyperexcitability to anomalous experiences in non-clinical populations. I used tDCS, EEG, psychophysical tasks, and psychometrics.
