Indian Institute of Management Bangalore

Prateek studies how businesses and markets evolve(d) in history, and in developing countries, and the technological, cultural and institutional causes that drive such evolution. Prateek is an Assistant Professor in Strategy at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) and IIMB Young Faculty Research Chair. He earned his B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) in 2010 and his Ph.D. from University College London (UCL) in 2018. During his PhD, he was a Research Associate at the Stigler Center at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (2016-2018). Additionally, he was affiliated to the Kellogg School of Management and the Center for Economic History at Northwestern University as a Visiting Predoctoral Fellow (2015-2018). Prior to his PhD, he worked as an operations consultant for clients in metals and mining industry (2010-2012). Prateek has also taught operational research methods at the London School of Economics (LSE) (2012-2015), and continues to be an Honorary Research Associate at the UCL School of Management.
