After 12 years of experience in a leading consulting firm in the Mergers & Acquisition department, he joined EM LYON Business School in 1999. His area of expertise covers Private Equity , international M&A, hospitality industry and real estate. He is a non executive Director of several organization, former member of the Lyon city council.

EDUCATION

EXPERIENCE

He joined Arthur Andersen’s audit department in 1989 for three years where he gained diversified experience in listed companies.

He then joined Ernst & Young Paris in the consulting practice for international clients. He was involved in various projects, including the large restructuring programme of the state-owned steel mill for the Algerian government and several investigations in respect of cross border acquisitions and disposals.

Between 1994 and 1996, he was seconded in the E&Y London Corporate Finance Department where he enlarged his experience in cross border transactions. He participated to the due diligence and wrote the long form report of several acquisition and management buy-outi nvolving UK leading banks. He was a member of the negotiation team to sell the Barings bank to ING.

Between 1996 and 1999, he went back to E&Y French practice in the Lyon Corporate Finance as head of valuation department where he carries out investigations and business plan reviews for valuation exercises. He mostly worked for US investment banks in the entire acquisition process of distressed real estate portfolios. He was responsible of a team of consultants to analyze the nature of the assets, structure the portfolios, assess the legal and financial environment of each line, provide a valuation based on potential exit strategies. Defend them in front of the investment board of Morgan Stanley or General Electric Capital.

Since 1999 is a permanent professor in corporate finance at EMLYON Business School, focusing on corporate valuation, mergers & acquisitions and financial strategy. He managed the specialized Master in Corporate Finance for 3 years, before being appointed as Head of the Specialized Masters Programs in 2007 (12 programs, 350 students, 6 M€ revenues).

  • From 2001 - 2005 Technical Advisor, member of the cabinet of the President of the Great Lyon Council
  • from 2008-2014 Member of the Lyon city council, youth & sports commission
