Biography
Born in France, Professor Philippe LÊ holds a PhD from the University of Aix-Marseille (Institut d''Administration des Entreprises)-ESSEC. He is a graduate of Audencia Graduate School of Business (Nantes). He has also studied at Ohio State University, College of Business, Columbus, USA. He is associate Professor of Corporate and International Strategy at Grenoble Ecole de Management (Equis, AACSB and AMBA accredited) since 2001. He is also the Program Director of several major programs: - Global Tech (English program in global technology entrepreneurship, elected the best 2nd year track for the Sup de Co program) - Advanced Master in “Innovation & Technology Management” (for initial and executives). Ranked 2nd best Specialized Master in “Innovation Management” in France (SMBG). At GEM, he is the pedagogical head of the core curriculum and specialization courses in Strategic Management in the French Grande Ecole Program and in the French Executive Education. He has taught for various audiences including MBA, MIB, DBA and executive education programs. He has been elected the 3rd best “Professor of the year” in 2006 for his teaching in GEM Grande Ecole program. His multimedia Strategy course has been the 2nd most downloaded content on iTunes U in 2011. Previously, he has been on the faculty of the University of Angers, ESC Pau in France, and has served as a deputy Pedagogy Head for the 2nd year Sup de Co program at ESC Le Havre. He is a visiting lecturer and guest speaker in strategy and innovation in different countries, including Switzerland (HEC, University of Geneva) and England (Aston Business School, Birmingham). Prof. LÊ has published in the areas of strategic thinking and innovation: a book “Piloter et réussir l''innovation en entreprise: aider l''entrepreneur à être stratège” (3rd award by the Academy of Business Intelligence in 2006), as well as chapters in books and articles. In addition, he has written general-interest articles for several leading specialized magazines and dailies'' economy and business sections. His work centers on strategy/business model innovation, on the appropriate strategic response to corporate challenges, be they social, technological or regulatory, and on the sources of companies'' long-term profitability. His research has been presented at several international conferences. He has supervised a series of in-the-field strategic analyses with Master/Executive Master and DBA participants. He has advised/trained various start-ups and entrepreneurs/managers from the “French Silicon Valley” in their strategic thinking. In many cases, the work has led to actual help with the (re-)design of their strategic business model.
