Biography

  • Prof. Liang is an assistant professor at Wenzhou-Kean University. Philip was born in Pennsylvania and raised in California. He earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Chicago in 2016 and a PhD in economics from the University of Chicago in 2021. Philip worked in the e-commerce industry at Wayfair. He performed research on statistical methodology for estimating long-run effects using short-run data. Philip enjoys gardening, hiking, and rowing in his spare time.

Research Interests

  • Dr. Liang’s research focuses on two areas: game theory and experimental economics. He is interested in using laboratory experiments to test theoretical predictions. He has used game theory and experimental economics to study methods of collective decision-making. His work in mechanism design is currently under review at Games and Economic Behavior.
