Fogelman College of Business & Economics, University of Memphis
Professor Babin joined the faculty after 33 years in public and corporate accounting and tax. He has worked for a NYSE publicly-traded partnership, a Fortune 500 company and for “Big 8,” national and local accounting firms. He was awarded the Thomas W. Briggs Excellence in Teaching Award, the UofM Alumni Association Distinguished Teaching Award, the FCBE George Johnson Teaching Award and the Outstanding Professor Award from the Helen Hardin Honors College. In addition to holding an active TN license as Certified Public Accountant, he also holds credentials in Management Accounting and Payroll.
His favorite classes are the introductory class of Financial Accounting and senior level class of Individual Income Tax. He also teaches Managerial Accounting and Intermediate Accounting at the undergraduate level and Accounting for Managers, Corporate Governance and Ethics, and Taxation of Partnerships and Partners at the graduate level.
