Biography
Peter Cowen brings extensive experience in offering M&A advisory services and capital-raising for technology companies.. He specializes in software, digital media technology, scalable business services and SaaS/subscription companies.
Mr. Cowen has advised over 200 companies, served on over a dozen boards of directors, and has co-founded three companies that were successfully sold to public companies or strategic partners. Before creating Sutton Capital Partners, he was Managing Director at Clear Capital Advisors, Angeles Capital Group and GroundWork Equity.
Previously, Mr. Cowen worked at Hewlett Packard and Unilever in sales and marketing. He has been an angel investor in over 50 companies and VC firms including MindBody (NSDQ: MB), Style Haul (sold to Bertelsmann), Cognition (sold to Nuance NSDQ: NUAN), Pulse Biosciences (NSDQ: PLSE) and ESalon. He is a founding member of Tech Coast Angels, Los Angeles, the largest angel investing group in the U.S.
Mr. Cowen has been a Lecturer at the UCLA Anderson School of Management for nine years teaching in the Fully Employed (FEMBA) and Executive M.B.A. Program. He also served on the UCLA Anderson Alumni Board of Directors for 10 years.
Mr. Cowen has an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Cowen is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63) and holds his brokerage license with Fallbrook Capital Securities Corporation.
