Executive School of Management, Technology and Law

Dr. Peter R. Altenburger is the founder of ALTENBURGER LTD legal + tax, which meanwhile has grown into a mid-sized Swiss law firm with offices in both, Zurich and Geneva. The central aspects of his work are national and international tax issues, mainly in the area of acquisitions, restructuring and financing. He worked for many years in the field of double taxation agreements, which gives him a special qualification in this international area. Furthermore Dr. Peter R. Altenburger is a lecturer at the University of St.Gallen HSG, where he is a coach of the Executive M.B.L.-HSG Program. As such, he is responsible for the Module on International Taxation and Corporate Governance (hosted by the ITP of the NYU Law School). Since 2009 he is the acting Chairman of the Tax Chapter of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce.

His most representative publications are: Schweizerisches Umstrukturierungsrecht, Zürich 2004; Tax Management, Foreign Income Portfolios, Business Operations in Switzerland, 3rd Ed., Washington DC 2008.
