Paul is the youngest ever recipient of the UCT Distinguished Teacher's Award, in recognition of a continued record of excellence in teaching.

He has taught the two days of Finance on the Standard Bank Masterclass in Strategic Client Management where he received an overall evaluation of 4.9 (out of 5).

He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the UCT College of Accounting and the Head of the Management Accounting and Finance Section.

Other relevant teaching experience

Paul teaches on the Accounts module of the UCT MBA programme (since 2007) and covers the areas of budgeting and cost management. He also presents an MBA elective on Management Control Systems, which includes performance evaluation, incentives and makes extensive use of relevant case studies. He has also taught on the UCT Finance for Non-Financial Management course since 2008.

For the past four years, he has been the lead presenter for annual study-abroad MBA programmes, presented in conjunction with MEA Global and UCT, for both the University of Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Paul is also the lead presenter of the UCT Board courses, which prepare Chartered Accountant candidates nationwide for the SAICA qualifying exams every year.
