Mr. Martin is the comptroller for the province of New Brunswick with oversight of accounting, internal audit, enterprise risk management, financial systems and consulting. He has 33 years’ experience in public practice as a former partner with a national accounting firm and four years with the provincial government. Mr. Martin is experienced with government pension models, transitions to shared risk and targeted benefit models, and the accounting analysis of current standards as applied to financial statement reporting. He is a fellow chartered professional accountant and a past president of the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants. Mr. Martin currently serves as a member of the chartered professional accountants of Canada’s Public Financial Management Advisory Committee, the Public Sector Accounting Board’s Financial Instruments Working Group and the Employment Benefits Task Force.
