Biography

Paul Macneill is a graduate in law (LLB), psychology (MA hons), history and philosophy of science (PhD). Areas of recent research work: ‘moral theory’, ‘medical professionalism’, ‘ethics and the arts’, ‘medical humanities’, and ‘ethics from cross-cultural perspectives’. Previous work was on ‘regulation in research and medical practice’, ‘ethics of medical research’, ‘ethics review by committees’, and ‘relationship between medical specialists and the pharmaceutical industry’. He has published two books in these areas: Ethics and the Arts, (Springer) and The Ethics and Politics of Human Experimentation (Cambridge University Press).
