Tippie College of Business

Patrick (Pat) Johanns is an associate professor of instruction and Director of the Part Time Graduate Program in Business Analytics of the Tippie School of Management. He teaches a wide range of courses (from foundational undergraduate courses to the capstone in the MS program) in Business Analytics and Operations Management.   He has a BS in Microbiology, an MBA, and PhD in Operations Management all from the University of Iowa. Pat developed an interest in International Business during a decade spent teaching in MBA programs at the Melbourne Business School and the German International School of Management and Administration. From this interest, he has gone to Kenya and Ghana four times since 2014 on grants to teach entrepreneurship and help women start businesses.

Pat is the author of a textbook on Management Science with spreadsheet modeling and has extensive experience creating and editing content for Operations Management and Analytics textbooks.
