Dr. Patricia is the Advisor to the Dean & Program Leader: Women in Business & Leadership. She was formerly Vice Dean, Executive Talent Development at Strathmore Business School (SBS), the leading Business school in the Eastern Africa region. She has provided strategic oversight and insightful leadership to 2 divisions: Executive Education & Executive Coaching. She is an experienced, certified Executive Coach and an accredited assessor of the Extended Disc profile psychometric tool and PDA (Personal Development Analysis) tool. Prior to this role, she was the Director of Executive Education at SBS. She has also worked at Bamburi Cement, Deloitte, KPMG and Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouse Coopers). She is a board member serving on the boards of Strathmore Research and Consulting Centre, Elegant Bridal & Breakthrough Consulting Ltd. Patricia is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA – Leadership & Management) from the International School of Management (ism.edu). Her main research interest is in Women in Leadership. She holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce (Marketing), a MBA in Strategic Management & Marketing from the University of Nairobi, a CPA (Certified Public Accountant)-Kenya & IMIS-UK (Institute of Management Information Systems). She has a vast wealth of knowledge on leadership & management, having developed the potential of over 1000 senior managers across the region. She is an inspiring leadership & change speaker and has spoken at corporate conferences such as Citi Bank for Citi- Women, Safaricom Women in Technology, Equity Wings to Fly Annual Conference, Women in Leadership East Africa Conference, Women Corporate Directors Global Conference (New York), UAP Insurance, British Council (South Africa), PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Timeless Women of Wonder & Women on Boards (TWOB) and Seven Seas Technologies.

Patricia’s contribution has been award-winning and she has been honoured with these awards: Top 40 under 40 Women 2010 by Business Daily for her remarkable achievements throughout her business life. One of the 12 women Impacting Deliberately in the Marketplace award by Jacob’s Well -International Women’s day 2015.

Patricia believes in harnessing your potential. To that end she has revolutionised Executive Education since 2008 and has been a key influencer in the development of the SBS portfolio of over 20 executive programs. She is also a trailblazer having being in the first team to introduce executive leadership and talent programs in this region. She has directly developed the content and outcome of the following SBS programs with a high positively impactful effect on participants. These programs include Women in Leadership Learning Series (WILL), Women in Executive Leadership League (WELL), Women Directors Leadership Summit (WDLS), Senior Management Leadership Program (SMLP) & Advanced Management Program (AMP).

She has also developed customised programs for a wide range of corporates in Kenya, Uganda & Ethiopia such as Safaricom Limited. She has recently began a new initiative called Next by Women- Africa to enable women become their next best self. She is also running the first LeanIn Circle in East Africa- the Next By Women LeanIn Circle (@nextbywomen).

Patricia is also social entrepreneur and has run a wedding and events services business and a consulting company focussed on people’s potential, marriage and families. She has designed and held several forums for women such as Women of Substance (2003-ongoing) and Brides for Life, Wives for Life personal enhancement program (2008 to-date) which has directly impacted over 400 ladies so far. She has inspired similar initiatives in Lagos and Tanzania.

In all these facets in her life she believes in applying a leadership formula she has recently developed as part of her DBA research. The formula is G=RH4 where G refers to total growth which can only occur when we make decisions and act based on Raising our Heart, Head, Hand for a Higher Purpose.

She is married to Murugami since 2004 & together they have two daughters they are intentionally bringing up.

She enjoys spending time, travelling with her family & has a deep interest in music, reading and cooking.
