Dr. ParthaHaldar did his MBBS from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur. He completed his MD in Community Medicine in the year 2006 from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Since May 2014, Dr. ParthaHaldar is working as Assistant Professor of Community Medicine in AIIMS, New Delhi. He is currently stationed at the CRHSP Ballabgarh. His main areas of work have been in infectious diseases epidemiology, monitoring of National Health Programmes, Disease Surveillance, Drug Resistance Surveillance for HIV, Urban Health and Programme Evaluation.

While working with the World Health Organization, as Epidemiologist, he was instrumental in preparing the guidelines for analysis of routinely collected programme data which could be used for evidence based decision making. These guidelines are used for district level profiling of the HIV epidemic, and for preparation of annual action plans at district and state level across the country.

With Family Health International (presently known as FHI-360), he developed a tool for Pre-Surveillance Assessment for a prospective Surveillance for Sexually Transmitted Infections. The tool was piloted in select districts of Andhra Pradesh and findings submitted to Department of AIDS Control.

He has been associated with LFA of Global Fund (for ATM) for programme monitoring of HIV and Tuberculosis programme in India that included a structured assessment of the organizations receiving funds, in relation to the grant initiation, periodic review, grant consolidation, renewal process. With Population Foundation of India (USAID), he has helped developed district profiles for urban health scenario for the different districts.

He has worked internationally with the Regional Office of WHO (for South East Asia) for collecting, collating, analysing and drafting consolidated regional HIV report out of the 11 countries in this region. He has also experience in large scale monitoring of multi country prorgamme data as exemplified by his contribution, while there, in preparation of the Global AIDS Reporting for the region.

He has been a Scientist (Assistant Director) with the Indian Council of Medical Research at the National AIDS Research Institute in Pune, Maharashtra.

Dr. ParthaHaldar has authored many publications in international and national peer reviewed journals. He has contributed to a large number of national and international guidelines and training modules. Over his career as a medical epidemiologist, he has experience of imparting trainings in public health and epidemiology to multiple cadres of health care staff. He has been a member of Technical working groups for Surveillance and Estimations (HIV, Dept of AIDS Control). Presently he is member of Technical Working Group (as Epidemiologist) for HIV Drug Resistance in India and as special invitee for the Technical Working Group on HIV Incidence in India, constituted by National AIDS Control Organization. Dr. ParthaHaldar is also a visiting faculty for the Health Care Analytics module at the Indian Institute of Management, at Bengaluru.
