Adj Asst Prof Wu Pang Hung is a Consultant, Orthopaedic Surgery, practising in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, a member of the National University Health System (NUHS).

Trained by both neurosurgeons and orthopaedic surgeons that focus on spine, Adj Asst Prof Wu's surgical expertise is in the whole spectrum of spinal surgery, including spinal decompression, fusions, spine tumors, degenerative conditions of the cervical and lumbar spine, and spinal injuries. His main interest is Spine Surgery, which includes minimally invasive spine surgery (endoscopy), spinal trauma and adult spinal deformity (Scoliosis).

Graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (2006), Asst Prof Wu was also placed on the Dean's List in the graduating class 2005/2006. His qualifications include Medicine Bachelor and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Graduate Diploma of Family Medicine (NUS), Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (MRCS), Masters of Medicine in Orthopaedic Surgery (NUS), and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh (FRCSed Ortho).

He obtained several fellowship awards and international fellowship training in Minimally Invasive– Endoscopic Spine Surgery and Open Complex Spine Surgery, including the prestigious Ministry of Health (MOH) Scholarship in 2018, which allows him to obtain international fellowship training at Nanoori Gangnam Hospital, Seoul, South Korea where he learnt minimally invasive spine surgery techniques in both Uniportal and Biportal endoscopic spine surgery, and went on to co-author with South Korean endoscopic surgeons to publish the applications of uniportal full endoscopic posterolateral lumbar interbody fusion for severe foraminal stenosis and scoliosis in journals.

In the same year, he obtained the AO Spine North America Fellowship, during which he learned minimal invasive surgery, adult spinal deformity (scoliosis) and spinal tumor surgery at one of the top accredited AO spine units in North America, Toronto Western Hospital (TWH), University of Toronto. During the fellowship training in The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and Sunnybrook Hospital (SBK) in as part of the University of Toronto Citywide Fellow, he also learnt complex pediatric deformity, tumor surgery, complex spinal trauma, adult tumor and deformity surgery.

Adj Asst Prof Wu obtained the AO trauma fellowship in 2017, where he learnt spinal trauma management techniques in Unfallklinik Ludwigshafen Trauma Centre, University of Heidelberg, Germany. In 2014, he was both the Singapore representative of ASEAN Orthopaedic Junior Travelling Fellow as well as the Ambassador of Singapore Orthopaedic Association in 2014 for Hong Kong Orthopaedic Association Annual Meeting.

Adj Asst Prof Wu maintains a keen interest in research and academic work. Besides clinical work, he is actively involved in the teaching of medical students from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS). Not only is he a member of several international and local spine societies, he is also the guest editorial board member in North American Spine Society (NASS)- Neurospine Journal special issue on Endoscopic Spine Surgery and World Neurosurgery Journal Special Issue on Endoscopic Spine Surgery.

A reviewer for a number of peer-reviewed international journals who published a number of articles in internationally peer-reviewed medical journals, Adj Asst Prof Wu had written several book chapters on topics related to orthopaedics surgery, neurosurgery and endoscopic spine surgery.

He is also an active presenter in local and international conferences, who continues to teach and demonstrate his techniques in spinal and orthopaedic surgery. Some of the awards that he won were for his contributions in academic conferences, including the "Best Oral Paper In Korean Society Of Minimally Invasive Surgery" for his work on Uniportal Endoscopic Lumbar Spinal Fusion in December 2019, Orthopaedic Teaching Excellence Award from National University Of Singapore in academic year from 2015 to 2017, and Service Quality Service Ambassador Award in 2018.
