Oliviero Roggi

Prof. Oliviero Roggi is Full Professor of Corporate Finance at the University of Catania. Prof. Roggi specializes in Corporate Finance, Asset Valuation, Risk Management and Corporate Governance with a recent focus on Sustainable Finance and ESG Risk. He was Research Professor of Finance at the Fundação Dom Cabral in Belo Horizonte and Professor of Finance at the Fundação Getulio Vargas EAESP of São Paulo where he taught Valuation and Risk Management and founded and directed the research nucleus NURPE - Núcleo de Estudos sobre Risco Pais e Empresarial. In the years 2011-2012 he was Visiting Associate Professor of Finance at the New York University STERN School of Business where he taught Valuation at the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance. In 2010 he founded the international association "The Risk Banking and Finance Society" which today has about 1000 professors and practitioners among its members, of which he is still President.

From 2010 to 2013, Prof. Roggi was a consultant to World Bank at the Department of “Environment, Social and Governance” of International Finance Corporation (IFC) as leader of the European Team in the “Risk Management for Board of Directors” project. Before joining NYU Stern, collaborating with World Bank and founding RBF, Prof. Roggi earned the title of confirmed Associate Professor (2005) at the University of Florence where he still teaches Corporate Finance, Merger & Acquisition and Valuation in the “Finance and Risk Management (FIRM) degree course.

Professor Roggi is co-founder, together with Prof. Edward Altman of NYU Stern Salomon Center, of the “International Risk Management Conference”. In 2007 Oliviero Roggi founded and directed (until 2009) Finanza Firenze, a research study center that has actively collaborated with the Tuscany Region, the Chamber of Commerce of Florence, Lucca, Arezzo in promoting the growth of financial culture and the governance of Tuscan SMEs. He is the author of numerous international publications with prestigious publishers and guest editor of numerous financial journals.
