Nurit Jugend currently resides in California and teaches at the Continuing Studies Education Program at Stanford University (USA). She is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, namely the Arturo Toscanini Foundation Competition, Klon prize, Liebersohn award, Acum award, 2003-04 Giles Whiting Fellowship from the Humanities and Sciences at Stanford University and 2007 Summer Composers Residency grant at Banff Centre (Canada).

Dr. Jugend founded the Concert-Gallery Event - a series of concerts featuring works by composers that also paint. This unique concept includes an artwork exhibition and live performance of music by composers such as Hindemith, Mendelssohn, Schönberg and her own work. The Concert-Gallery Event has been supported by the Pacific Art League (Palo alto), the Peninsula Community Foundation grant and the Subito grant from the American Composer’s League (ACL).

To date, Dr. Jugend has authored over a dozen published works, which have been performed worldwide namely in France, Israel, USA, Italy, Luxembourg, Germany, Slovenia, Iceland, Croatia and Austria. These performances include participation at the 2000 Luxembourg ISCM World Music Festival, Belgrade Festival for Contemporary Music (Slovenia), Tel-Aviv 2000 Biennale festival for Contemporary music (Israel), 2005 ISCM in Zagreb (Croatia) and many radio broadcasts. Her works have been played by leading performers and conductors such as the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Sirius Group, Stanford String Chamber Ensemble, 21st Century Contemporary Players (Israel), Haifa Symphony Orchestra (Israel), Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Maestro Zubin Mehta (Israel), E-Mex Trio (Germany), Israeli Modern String Quartet (Israel), Calarts Contemporary Ensemble, Slovenian Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Sean Edwards (Croatia) and the EurOrchestra under Maestro Franseco Lentini (Italy).

Jugend completed her doctorate at Stanford University (USA), Masters in Art at the Hochschüle der Künste (Germany) and Bachelor in Music and Art at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy for Music and Dance (Israel).
