Biography

Nir is a New York based serial entrepreneur. Recently he launched his most recent startup, OKpanda, which crafts gamified mobile apps for learning on the go. Its first vertical is language learning, with a series of curricula, smart games and context awareness designed to achieve superior results. In addition, he currently serves as a mentor forNYC BigApps, 3DS NYC, Startup Bootcamp, Gamefounders and Gamma Rebels.

Previously, Nir led the founding of three technology startups. His previous startup, PlayerDuel, created a multiplayer mobile platform that was installed in over 30 million iPhones.

With over 15 years expertise in software engineering, mobile apps, web applications, scalability and product management, Nir Markus has become a go-to expert specializing in start-ups and technology. In fact, he founded his first company at age 16, and in 1997, launched Israel's first-ever e-learning website and founded IDF's initial multimedia team.

Nir earned a BSc degree in Computer Science and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.
