Personal profile

Research interests

My main areas of research lie at the intersection of Human Resource Management, Organisation Studies and Strategic Management. Based on a multi–level approach, my research focuses on the question of how human resource management systems influence intellectual capital architectures, organisational capabilities and firm performance especially in the field of Professional Service Firms (PSFs). I am furthermore interested in topics such as the Micro–Foundations of Strategic Management or Strategy–as–Practice. I thereby apply quantitative methods such as structural equation modelling as well as qualitative methods such as expert interviews. My research results have been published in leading international journals such as ‘Human Resource Management’, ‘Human Resource Management Journal’ or the ‘International Journal of Human Resource Management’ as well as in leading academic text books such as the ‘Oxford Handbook of Professional Service Firms’.

Willing to supervise PhD

I welcome PhD applications from prospective students interested in conducting empirical research related to my main areas of expertise especially in the field of HRM in Professional Service Firms.
