Nicholas Crain is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Melbourne. Previously Dr. Crain was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Owen Graduate School of Business at Vanderbilt University. His research focuses on capital formation and related frictions in private markets, particularly in venture capital and leveraged buyout transactions. He holds a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Crain served as a submarine officer in the US Navy.
