Claes Neree (1971) is a medical doctor for disabled patients, professor (Uhasselt) & Academic Director (Antwerp Management School). She obtained her Ph.D. at the KULeuven on “quality improvement, cost-effectiveness and disruptive business models in primary care”. Recently she finished successfully her eMBA. Formally she was 10 year medical director of “De Onderlinge Ziekenkas”. On the side she coordinated the Belgian Improvement Study on Oral Anticoagulation Therapy. Until 2011, she managed a temporary scientific chair on cardiovascular prevention, studying the effect of new business models in cardiovascular prevention.

At this moment she is studying different aspects of safety management systems within hospitals (safety culture, preventable adverse events, accreditation processes and communication between health care providers (Vitalink). Neree has a lot of practical experience in the field of medical management in different layers of health care (general practice, hospitals, social security and industry). Her field of interests are quality management, leadership, new business models and change management in Health Care.

She is author of a book ‘cardiovascular prevention’ and several scientific papers within the field of medical management. She is an invited lecturer on (inter)national congresses.
