Biography
Smith School of Business
The social web has ushered in a new era in communication, presenting business leaders with a myriad of new opportunities and challenges. With a background combining formal training in education with extensive expertise in social media, web analytics and digital marketing, Neil Bearse is able to bridge the gap between technology and business - delivering a talk that is, at once, informative, inspiring and entertaining.
His pioneering work to market the music of independent artists online and through word-of-mouth channels like podcasting and blogging led to him representing artists from across North America, and the incorporation of his marketing consulting company TWOSIX.TWO. With a goal of empowering organizations and rockstars alike to communicate authentically and effectively online, his list of clients now includes WestJet, SaskTel, Kidrobot, Starbucks Canada and the Canadian Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Neil has three times been selected as a guest speaker for Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies Symposium; including the inaugural event in Mexico City in 2010. Bearse has also teamed with former Yahoo! Canada General Manager Kerry Munro for a seven-city Canadian speaking tour, teaching managers and executives how to better leverage digital communications and social media. In addition to the role of Associate Director, Marketing at Queen's School of Business, Bearse is a regular contributor to the School’s world-renowned executive education programs, with experience teaching on Queen's Marketing Program, Queen's Executive Program and Queen’s MBA Programs across North America.
