Neal Dechillo

Associate Provost DeChillo joined Salem State University as an Associate Professor in the School of Social Work in 1995. He was promoted to the rank of Professor in 1999 and was named Interim Dean of the College of Health & Human Services in 2002. He was appointed Dean in 2004 and held that position for 12 years. He was appointed to the position of Associate Provost in June 2016. He earned both of his graduate degrees, MSW and PhD, from Fordham University and attained his bachelor's degree in Psychology/Philosophy from St. Francis College in New York. Prior to Salem State, he was an Associate Professor and Research Director of the Research and Training Center on Family Support and Children's Mental Health at Portland State University in Oregon.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative oversight for the Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, Center for Civic Engagement, Disability Services, First Year Experience, and Sponsored Programs and Research Administration. Also provides leadership to the campus in the assessment of student learning outcomes and faculty professional development.
