Biography

Nancy Hammond is an instructor in the Department of Finance & Real Estate at the Driehaus College of Business. Prior to joining DePaul, Hammond taught classes in money and banking and economics at Northwestern University. For more than three years, she served as a research associate at Argonne National Laboratory where she provided housing and neighborhood characteristics in the Chicago metropolitan based on U.S. Census data for the National Science Foundation hedonic pricing project.

Hammond also has experience as a consultant in energy pricing, and has developed energy demand models from utility panel data to assess changes in demand from energy efficiency equipment or energy control strategies at Navigant Consulting. In 2016 Hammond began working in KPMG's Risk Management Advisory Group as a manager, working with large banks to perform audits and review prepayment models for borrower refinancing and valuation of mortgage securities.

Hammond's research focuses on monetary policy, financial markets, and interactions of finance with the economy. She is flu​ent in Sp​anish and French, and has studied Russian and Arabic.
