Teaching Philosophy

My Teaching Philosophy is centered in my belief that effective learning is achieved when it is acquired within the context of a problem and that students learn by engaging in a process of sense making.

Professional Activities

  • CISCO (Singapore): Provide consultancy services to CISCO in relation to their security study of Key Installations (KINs). The scope of the work consisted of assessing hardening needs and developing hardening options and solutions for KINs (10 June–10 August 2005).
  • Housing and Development Board (Singapore): Provided the Singapore Housing and Development Board (HDB) with feedback on a term contract for composite wrapping to structural members in various HDB estates (22 October 1999).
  • Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Society (Singapore): Honorary Secretary (2002-2005), Council Member (2005-2006).
  • ACI Singapore Chapter: Director (2002-2004), Secretary (2004-2006).
