Biography
UCLA Anderson School of Management
Ming Lu holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree in business taxation from the Leventhal School of Accounting at the USC Marshall School of Business. Lu has experience working at notable firms such as Deloitte, KPMG, Northrop Grumman and Merrill Lynch. Beyond teaching, he is also heavily involved in student success initiatives. He is the faculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi (the accounting honor society). In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) Academic Champions program, which aims to increase the number of certified public accountants. He also actively works with Big 4 CPA firms’ diversity and inclusion teams. Lu won the 2021 California Society of CPA's Outstanding Educator award.
In his free time, Lu enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as helping others and giving back to the community. Every year, he participates in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) grant program, which prepares tax returns free of charge for low-income families. He also maintains a YouTube channel called Accounting Is for You to provide students with knowledge about the accounting profession.
