Biography

Dr. Mikee Inton-Campbell is a trans academic and activist from the Philippines. She earned her PhD in Cultural Studies at Lingnan University, under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship scheme. Her work centered on representations of queerness in Philippine and Southeast Asian cinema.

As an activist, she served on the board of ILGA World – the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, as co-chair of the Trans Steering Committee, and currently sits on the Grant Making Panel of the International Trans Fund. She is also a board member of the Society of Transsexual Women of the Philippines (STRAP), the first trans-focused advocacy organization in the Philippines.

Her current book project titled The TransPilipinas Anthology is a collection of trans-themed essays, stories, and poetry written by trans and gender-diverse Filipinx authors and artists. Her other research interests include trans healthcare, sex work, and queer representations in popular culture.
