Hult Ashridge Executive Education

Mike Grandinetti teaches Entrepreneurship, Innovation Marketing and Management and Leadership. Mike has been continuously active in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship since earning his BS Engineering and beginning his career in Silicon Valley, as an entrepreneur, consultant, professor, board member and mentor. He was an early team member and CXO of five VC-backed startups. Two went public on the NASDAQ and five were acquired by large strategics including ATT, Iron Mountain, Oracle, Symantec and Synopsys.

Mike serves on the Board of Directors of numerous US and international startups in fields as diverse as medical devices and equipment, health IT, big data, enterprise software, financial technology and music festival management software. He is an active and top-rated mentor in top rated accelerator programs such as TechStars (ranked #2 in the US), BetaSpring (ranked #11 in the US), the Founders Institute and the MassChallenge as well as IBM SmartCamp and startupbootcamp internationally. Mike He served as a judge for 10 years in the MIT $100K Global Entrepreneurship Competition.

He is also very engaged in the field of Social Entrepreneurship. He mentored the winning team in the 2013 Hult Prize SF Regional Competition as they won against Stanford, U Cal Berkeley, and MIT and helped lead them to the Finals at the Clinton Global initiative Annual Meeting where they presented to luminaries including Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus. He has served as an advisor to Engineers Without Borders as well as numerous social startup ventures. Mike has served as Co- Chairman of both the Business Development and the Nominating Committees of WGBH Public TV & Radio, the flagship operation within the US Public Broadcasting System while serving on the corporate executive board for the past 14 years.

Professor Grandinetti keynotes, lectures, moderates panels and facilitates workshops at many startup, entrepreneurship, innovation, venture capital and social impact events and is active on the TEDx circuit.

Mike has also worked as a strategy consultant, beginning with a stint at McKinsey & Company after earning his MBA with distinction at Yale, and continues to serve as a Senior Adviser to businesses, venture capital firms, accelerators, universities, and national and regional governments on a broad range of strategic, innovation policy, entrepreneurship cluster formation, technology commercialization and tech transfer issues.
