Biography
Michael H. Redlin, professor emeritus, taught at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration from 1973-2005, teaching and learning from the best students in the world. Over this time he focused on the important and central role that facilities play in successful businesses in the hospitality industry. His primary areas of expertise were property development, renovations, energy and water conservation, and food-service facilities design. He co-authored the book, Managing Hospitality Engineering Systems, and published articles on utilities management. He presented numerous seminars to industry organizations (e.g., Club Managers Association of America) and taught professional development program courses for 25 years. In addition to his teaching and research duties, he served as the associate dean for academic affairs from 1990 to 1995. Redlin retired in 2005.
