Biography

Deepak Hegde joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations in July 2010. He has previously worked at Robert Bosch, a large technology-based German company, and Abt Associates, a research and consulting firm for the U.S. government and business sector. He is currently a visiting scholar at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Professor Hegde's research focuses on the unique challenges posed by innovation (i.e. the production and commercialization of new ideas) to business strategy and public policy. He studies high-tech industries including biomedical and information and communication technologies. His work has been published in journals such as Science, Nature Biotechnology, Management Science, Journal of Law & Economics and Research Policy.

Professor Hegde earned his B.E. with distinction in Industrial Engineering from the Mysore University, his M.S. in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
