Mike came to UMass after running a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration outpatient substance abuse treatment program. His private sector works includes residential mental health and he owned and operated a fitness facility. Early in his career he ran a statewide prevention program and served 9 years in the military. He holds graduate degrees from Westfield State University and UMass Amherst. He is an American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer and certified health coach. Mike is certified as a resilience instructor through the Home Base organization and works with student veterans on campus.
