Michael is an Adjunct Professor in the Management & Organization Department. Prior to rejoining USC in August, 2017 he was an Adjunct Professor of Executive Education at the Ross Graduate School of Business. He has worked, taught, coached and consulted in executive, management & organization development for over 30 years. Michael was the faculty director & principle faculty member for the Ross School’s Leadership in Action & Driving Organizational Change & Culture programs. Michael served as Vice-President of Executive Education & Development at Charles Schwab Company and Senior Vice President & Executive Consultant at Personnel Decisions International (now Korn Ferry).

Michael McGrath is an Adjunct Faculty member in Executive Education at the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business.

He served as Vice President of Consulting Services at Executive Development Associates (EDA). He co-authored Executive Development Trends 2004: Filling the Talent Gap and a member of the research team that produced The Leadership Benchstrength Challenge: Building Integrated Talent Management Systems. Michael also served as Vice-President of Executive Education and Development at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., where he was responsible for the talent portfolio planning and development process for the firm's top 200 executives including creating and implementing the succession planning process and coaching members of the executive committee and members of the senior team in executive and leadership development. Michael has done consulting work with companies such as Dell, Altera, Lexmark, Cisco, Raychem, Fluor Daniel, Johnson Controls, Rockwell International and many others on talent management, individual executive effectiveness and senior team performance.

McGrath was a faculty member in the Department of Management and Organization at the University of Southern California's School of Business (USC). He worked as part of the University of Michigan/Ford Motor Company Leadership Education and Development program that gave him the opportunity to coach hundreds of global Ford executives around aligning their personal development with Ford's strategic imperatives.

Michael earned his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and his Masters Degree in Public Administration (Human Resources and Organization Development) from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, State University of New York at Albany, and his B.A. in American Studies from Siena College.
